Awards for September, 2013
Daniel Brust as Albert
Albert has, for months now, been undergoing a slow, strange sort of alchemy. This month, he really showed how far he's come in one year. During a mod involving the attempted rescue of a pair of children, Albert played a critical role in making sure the newer towns members did not take a death; he was constantly shifting from one fallen body to the next, operating with the cold efficiency that would have made the mercenary troupe in his backstory proud. Despite his best efforts, he was unable to save the children who died in the ensuing chaos. What followed, when he found their bodies, was nothing short of RP gold. All of the players who witnessed him frantically trying to heal them, and eventually breaking down when he couldn't, were stunned into silence. He gave a fantastic performance and left a tremendous impact on the events of the game. We cannot wait to see what else Albert has in store for Travance.
Alisia as Billie the Insane Pirate
Many of the NPCs for this month were nothing short of awesome and it was a difficult choice, but we’d like to give the award to Alisia, who portrayed Billie the Insane Pirate. Alisia played an insane crew member on a mod run on Saturday afternoon. She was defeated but not killed and was taken to Travance, and the town soon realized that she was VERY insane. Since there was much interest, Alisia decided to continue to play this NPC over feast and entertained everyone who was outside the entire time. She showed great initiative and we realized how much she brings to the game when she can make it. It was obvious she had a lot of fun with the role.
JJ Richards, Padma Fuller, and Michelle Theis
We have multiple winners for Player this month. JJ was a huge help to Kristen, who was running the event. According to Kristen, JJ (in addition to very successfully playing a major NPC role) went above and beyond, helping her write, run, and make the props for the whole weekend and she could not have done it without her. Great job and thank you for all of your hard work!
We’d also like to thank two people that helped out James and Steve in a big way. In addition to sewing some of the costuming for the event, Michelle Theis and Padma Fuller spent a lot of time in the week leading up to the event washing all of the NPC costumes, organizing them, and cataloging items so we know what else is needed to make the monster cabin even better. Thank you so much for your efforts.
The Negotiation Table
James Jones and Ann Patricia as Bat Cooper and Ekaterina did a fantastic job setting up the “Faerie Council” table in Winterdark. It was extremely well planned and executed and made a big impact on all that got to witness it. Delicious food and drinks, as well as interactive props were on display. It was completely player-done and these two did an awesome job.
