Springtide is here! - The Celebration Awaits... was created by Casandra (Casandra)
Springtide Festival
“For the Mayday is the great day sung along the old straight tracks, and those who ancient lines did lay, will heed the song that calls them back.”
To all who wish to join us in celebration, the festival will begin at 11 bells on Saturday morning of the Baron’s Feast in May, ending at 11 in the evening.
Throughout the day, there will be different activities in which to involve oneself.
Have other business? Want to attend the market faire? No problem, your hosts will be there when you return!
Maypole
Weather permitting, all who wish to help decorate the Maypole, should meet at the flagpole outside the Dragon’s claw Inn. If It does happen to be raining hard, come to the Alisandrian Statehouse instead, where there will be shelter from the rain and we will begin the festivities there.
In celebration of the return of life & fertility to the world after the death and dormancy of winter. The sap in the trees has started to run and with it new energy is bought to the season of renewal.
During the Maypole Dance, think about what you wish to weave into, or out of, your spirit. The Maypole is a symbol of the deliverance of life and love, while the ribbons are Gaia’s embrace.
Immediately following the Maypole , also weather permitting, will be the bocce tournament.
Take a pleasant walk with me from the Inn, down the path to the Alisandrian Statehouse. If you don’t know how to find it, go to the back of the Inn, past the sand pit, and look for the red and white markers. It is only a two minute walk. Once you cross the footbridge over the brook, you are there!
Don’t wait to pick your bocce teammate, or all the best players will be gone! Plans are to have the tournament in a clearing just outside the Statehouse.
Below is a list of other contest that will take place throughout the day. Times are subject to change, based on attendance.
Bocce ball * 12:00
Egg toss * 1:00
Alisandrian Bewitching (are you man or woman enough for this?) 1:30
Springtide Skit or story-telling contest 2:30
*Subject to weather conditions
All Contests will have an entrance fee. All proceeds will be donated to the Church. Magical trinkets will be given as prizes to the winners.
Our talented chefs will have refreshments available. Delicious food both sweet and savory.
(Coins will be charged for some of the food and drink to compensate the farmers and laborers of Alissandria)
In addition, contributions of food and drink will be greatly appreciated.
Sargoson’s Hooka tent and bar will be open for business. Cash tips appreciated!
6:00 - There will be a break while we all go and enjoy feast together at the Inn.
Nighttime activities: resume at 8:00
Absinthe – Casandra will be serving a special new brew of Absinthe!
