The War of Alok Malagan - Final War Report
By General Argent’Harrow of the Rising Dawn

This final report will sum the events of the year long operation, that has now come to a close.

In the beginning of this noble crusade we first marched through the Barony of Travance to get to our target destination. In Travance, we picked up many powerful heroic allies to aid in this righteous cause. The Rising Dawn wishes to thank the brave heroes of Travance who have been spending their time shoulder to shoulder with us in this cruade. Without the aid of these brave individuals the war may have very well resulted in mass casualties.

Upon first surrounding the dark forests of Alok Malagan, we found resistance to be both minimal and uninspired. For an entire three months, our forces pushed deeper and deeper through the dark forests and into the main stronghold. The dark magics on the forest that prevent free movement into and out of the necropolis have been thankfully banished due to our efforts. They have been destroyed utterly and its very roots have been dug up and burned, and for the enemy to re-erect these dark magics, would take years and perhaps even decades. Because of this accomplishment, in the future, a future army could march upon the necropolis without hindrances.

Approximately three months in, the war took a drastic turn for the worse. It became known to us, that for all of the time since we arrived, Pesmerga, the Vampire Lord was absent from his home. Only later we would learn that for three months he did battle with the lost patron of the Von Ritter household, not more than ten to twenty miles from our position. This battle was lost by the Von Ritter, and Pesmerga returned to Alok Malagan to find his home on the verge of defeat. Evil grants its followers great power at a price, and the price this vampire lord paid must have been great. The rumors of his power are not understated, or exaggerated, they are frighteningly accurate and horrifically true. With the dark lord of Alok Malagan present and fighting for his home, the battle turned so fast, that it shook the very morale from underneath our troops. Within a mere matter of days, the rank and file foot soldiers of darkness themselves became more powerful and well organized. This alone halted our progress, but when the dark lord himself showed his face on the front lines, the carnage could not be described through ink upon parchment, and our men began to disappear. Even still, every single lost soldier of the light has not been found. We have set up a chapel tent of priests, who do nothing but pray for their souls every day. This continued for many bloody months, filled with determination, resolve, and death.

It was not until a little less then a month ago, that the lost patron of house Von Ritter hobbled into our base camp. He had apparently barely survived the battle with Persmerga and spent the last few months, nursing himself back to relative health in the wilds. He told us of his captivity for the last fifteen years in Alok Malagan. He told us of his battle with the Dark Lord. He told us everything he could, but there was a single thing that he told us that weighed like a anvil sitting on our hearts. He told us that we could not win. This vampire is the father of all vampires. He is too ancient and too powerful to be destroyed. At first we took what he said to be exaggeration, or simply the despair of personal defeat, but upon reflection we realized this as fact. Just as we began to despair ourselves, he clarified that while such enemies of this power exist in the world, those who were strong of resolve, those who were clever and those who were not squeamish to do whatever it takes, could find ways to bring about the demise of these evils, without raising a sword against them. It was at this time, that Varren Von Ritter, told us of Mary; Pesemergas daughter. We had heard rumors of her and stories, but the Von Ritter, not only confirmed these tales as fact, but also told us, he knew were she was kept.

Four nights ago, we pulled all of our forces together and pushed against the enemy with all of our might. We did this large and we did this loud, and while this was happening, Lethias Von Ritter, Shamis Belmont, Kiellor Reign, Rayven Nightwing, Raxus, Lucas Brand, Illana Darkwood, Viktor Solvei, Moirya Arkanian, Ehlenathelasa Blacktree, Kleidin Dutenkukai, Gideon Weaveforger, Mother Marika, Amalthea Merril, Barak Tellinghast, Arabeth Chance, and Kwildar Darkhart went with Varen Von Ritter, through a secret passage down into the underground depths of Alok Malagan. As of this morning, we have pulled back. We are packing our tents and striking our war camp. We are leaving. This is the plan as was decided upon by all involved. Five days of intense battle to distract the forces of darkness, then leave, no matter the outcome. We have not heard from the group who went below. We do not know of their success or their failure. What we do know, is that now is the time to have faith. A copy of this war report is being sent to the high church of Light, the King of Kormye, and to the Barony of Travance, who’s heroes may have sacrificed themselves for the greater good.
