Wotcher,

I am seeking the counsel of those who identify themselves as "Dragons," or "Dragon-People." This has been described to me in a number of different ways: either as the the belief that one's grandparents were gargantuan winged lizards, or as the belief that one's humanoid body is, quite literally, a dragon, or as the belief that one is perpetually haunted by the "ghost" of a dragon deceased, which is present at all times (even when one has need of the restroom, I am assured.)

Should you feel that you identify with the term in one way or another, and would be happy to contribute to a matter of both scholarly and practical importance, I would be most interested in hearing from you. Please send word to our workshop in the Auralondian foothills, or else leave a note here. You will be compensated for your time.

For Queen and Country,

This doesn't seem like something I'd be interested in, as it sounds like it might ultimately be painful in some way.

I found it surprisingly easy to explain supernatural concepts with you last Valosday, as you don't necessarily allow your understanding of the world stop you from listening to what I hold to be true.
We can speak when I return to the proper in two weeks if that works for you.

Goggins,

I would be glad to share what I know about myself and others who share dragon's blood with you. You have proven yourself a good friend many times over in the past and I would be happy to help in any way I can. Feel free to write me with whatever you need.

Burkhart

P.S.

I do not know about this dispute on the name for our kind. I have known myself to be of the Dragon's blood like my grandfather. I have heard both titles, Dragon Blooded and Dragoon before. I am Burk. I have Dragon's blood in me. Is that not what matters?

I believe the dispute stems from the name others call us, referring to our preferred fighting style of pole arms and spears, verses the name that represents our lineage.

Most Kormyrians have the dragons blood in them. The term carries no meaning, as the amount is so small it means nothing.

Father,

At times I see people put more importance on what a thing is called rather than what it is.

I think that is what is happening here.

What name are you asking about?

Wotcher,

Many thanks to all those who have offered to contribute in some way. I hadn't expected such a large number of responses! Simply marvellous - indeed, I've a hunch that, in this case, increased numbers will only act to improve our chances of success (though, if it's not too much bother, I would be most appreciative of a single appellation with which we might refer to you collectively, without causing any offence.)

There are several things I'd like to ask you about, along with a short demonstration of the principles that underpin this project, and for the sake of allowing for as large and open a discussion as possible, I suspect the best course of action will be to arrange for some sort of meeting - perhaps this coming St. Astrid's day, when Mister Ienbura has indicated that he will have returned to Travance Proper. If that's agreeable, please do let me know if there exist any sort of protocols for meetings of Dragon-people (for example, there appears to be a very particular sort of handshake in use by your number) as I remain regrettably ignorant to much of your way of life, despite the continued and much-appreciated efforts of Mister De Barak.

In the meantime, one central line of inquiry seems to revolve around the question of what it means to be identified as a Dragon-person. If you think it appropriate, and would have no qualms with sharing such with an outsider such as myself, I'm very much interested in the mechanism by which you are able to distinguish your fellow Dragon-people, and indeed, how you found yourself to be one in the first place. Mister Count-Winterdark mentioned something about being "inhabited" by a dragon - is this true for you personally, or generally true of most Dragon-people?

Many thanks for your continued assistance - reading your nascent discussion has been fascinating, and I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts over the coming weeks.

For Queen and Country,

- A. C. Goggins
