I think we may have gotten off on the wrong foot.

It has just recently been brought to my attention that my marriage to Tobar has angered a bunch of you. If there was something related to your culture that I did not do, I am sorry. I meant no disrespect and I meant no harm. I also do not hold a grudge or any ill will towards any of you. I understand that I am a stranger to all of you and an outsider, by your standards.

So I invite all of you to speak with me, if you so desire. I invite all of you to get to know me for yourselves. I would like for us to be on friendly terms, or at least civil ones. But I understand if some, or all of you, are not ready or do not want to speak with me.

Again, I am sorry if I had not followed any important customs or traditions that I should have. I am willing to be educated on what is proper for your people and what is not.
