The Church of Light Hosts: The Maiden's Choice Dance! was created by Angeliana (Angeliana)
Maiden Choice's Dance - All are invited to attend!
Location: Fire pit behind the Monastery
Date & Time: Friday night of the extended Feast, 7 Bells past high noon
This is a day we gather to celebrate the Gods of Light.
To celebrate Valos, the dance begins at Sundown when He rests.
To celebrate Andorra, because it is the maiden's choice for whom they dance
To celebrate Gaia, the dance is held in spring to welcome the coming summer weather
To celebrate Galladel, a toast is performed to share with each other and those who have passed.
Food consists of small snacks.
On this day, we celebrate Andorra, the goddess of compassion and love. Women will choose their dance partners. Throughout the day Wednesday and Thursday various members of clergy will hand out roses to young maidens. These should be kept safe until the dance where you will use them to approach partners. A rose shared by a woman to a partner is a token of compassion, which leads and lends to a world united. Partners may accept or deny the rose. An accepted rose is an agreement to a dance; a joining of people to rebuild the world. A decline is still a positive gesture; one that states the world is strong, and may heal with time alone.
The Dialogue is as follows:
The Maiden: The Gods bless the broken world anew
The Partner Accepts: We join in hands to mend it.
The Partner Declines: We step aside to let it heal.
Also, I will be personally available for all who wish to receive a hug of comfort. This is not limited to any particular time, it is an open offer, always. You need simply ask.
Should you wish to donate any coin to the Church of Light, and wish to accept it, I shall bestow a kiss upon your cheek to show our love and gratitude. Proceeds will go to aiding the highlands and aid projects for all lands.
We look forward to seeing all of you there!
