Subjects of Travance! A year has past since we celebrated the first ever Reclamation day, in honor of the events of the turning of the fourth age, remembrance of this time, and the coming together of a people to thwart the adversary of world kind. This year we have more reason to celebrate than ever, as now both Demons Xualla and Balfurous are now dead!
This year, the festival for Travance Proper will be held on December the 20th. Below are a list of some of the events that will take place during this celebration.
Celebratory Feast
A number of hot and hardy stews and soups will be made available throughout the day.
Ceremony of Hope
A noble presents a feather to each who wishes to walk up and claim one. This ceremony is a symbol of humble thanks from those of high station to subjects of the kingdom. It represents a symbolic token of appreciation to those who saved the world from total destruction. The presenter in Travance Proper will be the Count of Winterdark.
Meeting about Arawyn
The Count and a hand full of scribes will sit at a table and all those who wish to join in on a meeting and discuss the state of the world around them may join in. We will be interested to hear any rumors that any of you have heard of the state of any people, places or things, so that he may send scouts to investigate and verify.
(OOG – “I Heard a Rumor…” This is your opportunity to possibly make a mark on KR lore! During the meeting tell the count “I heard a rumor that X” and make any statement you would like about the state of a place or people in the world. After the fact we will decide if we like any of them enough to decide to make the rumor true and add it to the Knight Realms Lore as cannon. If you have any creative idea that you would like to share in this fun in-game fashion, please feel free to participate! )
Scavenger Hunt
To represent the gathering of the components to craft the Light of Alluria, a special scavenger hunt is being run. The five original components represented by colored ornamental stones have been hidden in special locations throughout the land. A set of coordinates and map can be gotten from the count that can reveal one of these locations. You must declare a team of five to get a map and the first set of coordinates. After an item has been reclaimed, another set may be asked for. The first team to retrieve all five components will receive the prize. Maps will not be handed out to those who ask until noon. Also free to ask around in your group if you are not aware of the symbolism of these items, an informative history lesson awaits!
The Cleansing Pyre (Burning the demons to prevent plague)
Last year, Demons from all over were being piled high and burned, to prevent plague from setting in. For this year with no demon corpses it will be represented with simple bonfires. During this burning a symbolic feather is passed around the fire and those who wish to may state something they wish to proclaim appreciation for.
Drinking Games at the Bar!
“Never Have I Ever!” and other fun drinking games will be run periodically at the bar throughout the day and night!
Jax Speed!
From deep within the lands of the mysterious Jaxuarians comes a game in which you must rely on your keen sense of observation and quick reflexes. The Totem sits in the middle of the table, waiting for the player with the fastest reflexes to snatch it up and win the game. Each player is dealt a hand of cards. In order to win you must be the first player to get rid of all of your cards. Each turn, all of the players reveal one of their cards. If two cards are identical, those players must make a grab for the Totem. The faster player then gives their cards to their unfortunate adversary. To add to the difficulty, certain cards are almost identical; other cards force all players to make a grab at once, change the method of play, or otherwise add to the difficulty. Do you have the catlike reflexes to win?
Hold your own Activities!
Many lands and groups and individuals often seek to run their own activities for the people of Travance to take part in. We declare that this is an acceptable time to present any of your own activities to take place in the proper during this festival! Simply make your announcements of these activities public for all to hear.
