One pip for danger and two pips for fun,
Three for a half-tale that's barely begun,
Four dots squared in symmetrical beauty,
Five brings trouble that's mired in duty.
And if three by two is when two buys three
Six is the reason why gamblers walk free.
Seven untruths are whispered by fire,
And woe betide those who calls them a liar!
Eight can be great if there's none on your plate
For they may gain weight when the hour grows late.
Nine is for numbers, all num'rous in nature,
And dec'mal points will point out their stature.
Ten is the line where I draw close this rhyme,
Mere scraps of dogg'rel for my lips to prime.
Ladies and Gentlemen, t'will be good to be home again.
In Service and Song,
As day's ever long,
For working with words
can never be wrong,
As this bard with flair
(And rather nice hair)
Is none other than
Sindarion Sinclair
