I have several questions that are in need of research over the next few months. If you think you may have some time to conduct such work, please send me a note with your experience, any conflicts you may have, and salary requirements.

If you still have need I will be in town starting on the Saturday of this upcoming feast.
I have mostly done research in regards to Necrophtius, but assuming I will have access to any research materials I am confident in my ability to synthesize the information you need.

Faila,
Can you provide any more details as to the topic of your research?
If we know what this is about, we can see who might be best able to help you.

Indeed...so Cryptic. How may we know if it is something we could do? last time I took an assignment...they then told me it was in a city far away.

Don't get your knickers in a knot - there is nothing cryptic about it. I am simply trying to hire a person to help with some research, just as one might hire a person to assist serving ale at a pub or selling wares in a shop. Off the top of my head there are a number of mundane reasons why one wouldn't want to post the details on a public board . . . competitive advantage (one you should understand well, my friend), not wanting to have people think you are an idiot for not knowing something you should know, trying not to bore people who have no interest in the subject, and not having idiots who are unable to perform accurate research and separate false information from true posting various silly answers in public.
Things must be awfully slow in the Proper. If so, please head to Pendarvin, we can keep you busy.
With fondness,
Faila

Out of sake of curiosity as a researcher potentially interested- would you be providing the books necessary or would we need to source them ourselves?

An excellent question, Squire Tartaros. After consulting with young Nostarion, we believe there are volumes within the Proper that would be sufficient, at least for the preliminary research.

Midori,
Here is some interesting information, if you are so inclined:
Soldiers and sailors in the Old Empire of Kormyre used to be paid not with coin, but with bags of salt. They were then able to barter the bags of salt in trade for food, clothing, services, and other essentials and luxuries. Coinage was not so prevalent in the ancient days, so bartering goods (such as bags of salt) was more common. Even today, sailors have the expression, "Is he worth his salt," that is, is the sailor doing good enough work for the payment in salt that he is receiving.
The Ancient Kormyrian word for "salt" was sal (sal, salis), which eventually became our common Kormyrian word for the payment that one receives for the work that one does, "salary."
Father Ephrem,

I consider it an honor that I may return the favor for the many things that you have taught me during my time in Travance - of which I am still in your debt.
