Hjolda my friends and companions!
It is I, Grimkjell Eirson, Lieutenant of the Baronial Guard and the man who acted as your warlord this past feast. I wanted to briefly express how proud I was of the entire town fighting as well and coordinated as you did under the circumstances of a great world change, where all our abilities have in some way shifted. Many of us aren't who we once were, but our determination, bravery, and compassion for the smallfolk of the Proper were still on display.
Some things I noticed made me particularly proud of you all, the first demonstrated by several groups of warriors, notably Ostcliff and Magnus' team. When I asked them to pursue the Queen and her court and bring the battle to an end, they were able to switch targets and disengage, all while still under attack. I know a battle of encounter is a slog and that we had to run or march all over the Proper, but we were victorious. We were able to crown a new queen of the Ixarachnae, who is now friendly to Travance and not dangerous to our people.
The second point of pride I had, was how well and quickly you executed my initial orders of attack. When we designated targets of particular importance on the field, the town had them sleeping on the red snow, or “slain” as you southrons would say, almost immediately. That kind of quick work will be key in our future battles.
The third point of pride I will mention, is that of our clear desire to save lives. From my understanding during the entire battle after feast, not a single townsmember was slain, and many smallfolk and other refugees from the Ixarachnae's terror were saved. We even had an organized inoculation drive being done prior to the battle to ensure our heroes couldn't be subverted by the infectious attacks of the Ixarachnae. This is the right state of mind to prepare for our war against Necrophitus. We will not march just to unleash the murder-make upon him and slay him, but to save the lives of so many people we love and care for throughout the world.
The escorts for the new Queen of the Ixarachnae also did quite well. It was a dangerous thing to be on the field as a primary target for our foe, but they fought, healed, and cast well, and no harm came to her nor her companion.
Finally, the ferocity and kill-urge shown at our final murder-make, where we struck down the old Queen, was to be commended as well. While brutality is a ugly thing, the necessity of destroying this threat to us and the smallfolk was very clear indeed. The ferocity of our attack and victory may give some future foes pause, should tales reach their ears of how thoroughly she and her court were defeated.
Our task was not easy this moon, of that I am quite aware. A battle of encounter, or a hunt with war ice and the spoor of your foe in the air, is not as easily seen from such perspective as a line battle. The fights are spread out over a large area, and both foe and friend are in constant movement. But despite confusion and lack of knowledge about where our enemy might be at any given moment, we prevailed through a mixture of courage, discipline, and skill. You have my thanks and admiration, all of you. Every person who stepped out onto the field, be they carrying blade, spellbook, or other device, performed magnificently. You showed fortitude as well, for constant marching and running punctuated by fighting is one of the most difficult tasks that can be asked of a soldier or a hero.
Our next foe is Necrophitus. The war will prove difficult. Even for those who have fought Xualla, Balfurous, the Null, and Icarus, this fight will be perhaps the hardest we have ever known, but we shall prevail. What I saw here this feast gives me confidence in you all. Until we meet again, I remain yours in service, honor, and friendship,
Grimkjell Eirson

The downtrodden call,
And we will answer,
Always and forever.
Now let's make that bony, clart-covered, son of a sodding skitja pay for everything he's done. Say the word, Warlord.

I can only hope we can have a warlord as principled and honorable as you again Grim. You are a hero worth following.

Leftenant Eirson,
our formula for a Security detachment appeared to work well. Two interceptors, one gladiator to dish pain, and a healer. future additions might include a Spellcaster, like a Mage, priest, hexer or a Shaman. Either way, when its needed, call on me.

The time for being surprised when we fight like more than a horde of flailing children is over. There will be no more of these pissant thank yous for behaving like real warriors, because coordination will be the norm, or we will be dead. I returned to Travance to ensure these changes. To be its warlord.
These concepts remain imperative, but it is Eirson who is most ready to implement them.
I call on you, worthy Lords. Let grimkjell languish in the baronial guard no longer. Though his heart is soft as baby shit, his courage and loyalty have no equal. Acknowledge the Warlord your people already follow.

I don't believe I have ever personally met Wormwood but his words ring true to me. The people follow Grim. Why he currently is not the Warlord is beyond me. Bring some honor back to the station.

Thank you, Grim. You have my support.... I formally and highly recommend him for consideration in permanently filling the role of Warlord to the Great Council of Travance.

"Simply remember, keep a calm mind and foster benevolence. Walk in the light, and let goodness be your shield. Someday, we will all triumph over this chaos and evil and allow peace to flourish, but only if we remain steadfast now. The true test is before us every day."
