You might not know
But there are those who do.
There are those who
Have seen hardships,
Trials and struggles,
From five years never lived.

You might not know
But there are those who do.
There are those who
Became your friend,
Shared their secrets.
Gave you hope
When there was turmoil.

You might not know
But there are those who do.
There are those who
Died so you could live,
Fought beside you,
And saved so many.

You might not know
But there are those who do.
Heroes of Deepgarden
Heroes of Pelindor
Heroes of Anteries
Who each fought
Their own war.

Heroes of Deepgarden
Lived in the darkness
Under the Tyrant.
Together they banded,
Collapsing her regime,
With the bombs they carried.

Heroes of Pelindor
Lived behind great walls
Besieged by toy soldiers.
Together they banded,
Under the banner
Of a Blue Star Flower.

Heroes of Anteries
Lived aboard the flotilla
Set upon by sky fortresses.
Together they banded,
Searching for allies
Who would join their war.

Five long years they fought.
Five hard years they prepared.
After those five years,
Two dancing, burning, birds
Brought them home.

Heroes of Travance
Lived under Legacies
Shielding them from harm.
Together they banded,
And brought the Tyrant down,
Saving a family and future.

A book was reclaimed,
A Goddess' power restored.
But with history reversing,
Some had begun to forget.
Memories fading,
As if they never were.

If you have forgotten,
Listen to the stories.
Their tales are no fiction,
But a reality you saved,
A timeline you righted.

If you have forgotten,
Listen to their stories.
Your mind may have forgotten,
But your soul cannot.
Look deep,
and listen.

If you remember,
Remember for them.
Your scars
Your tears
Your weariness.
Tell your stories.
Share your memories.

You are someone's hero,
Even if they do not remember.

Nikola Maximilian Brzezinski-Malagan

Some of us remember. Some of you think yourselves valiant saviors.

Some of us lived through hell. Some of you decided a tyrant should be saved.

I spit on the shadows of any who think that heroics can redeem what was done.

I have a long memory. Your actions are an insult to the memory of those who fell and were forced to live as insects.

I am going to see the road and open sky for the first time in five years. I hope to see none of you who would have redeemed Eden in my travels.

I will remember

We worked so well in the city. We protected the citizens and refugees and worked as a team to feed, cloth and house them all.

What we learned together, as what we can accopmplish when we work together. Why would i ever want to forget that.

We are writing down what we did, so we can review, and see what we can use for the future in the city, in Travance, nd share to the world.

So I'm in full agreement with Sergei.

We're giving every evil soul a second chance now right?

I find it odd that we choose to kill and murder enemies that wish to conquer this world. Yet when something actually does it, they get to live.

Everyone who advocated for her living spit in the hardships that she caused for the 5 years we lived under her boot. Real or not, those feelings and memories will stay with those who wish to remember.
I'm glad you choose to decide those who died under her rule don't matter.

Sergei, if you ever want to grab a drink and talk, feel free to find me.

She lived so she could suffer. Why allow her to simply die to pay for what she has done? She was stripped of all powers and is being made to live in an imperfect world to suffer, like she made everyone else do. Whether they fought against her or unwillingly for her, she now suffers like them.

I wanted her to live so she could suffer. Stripped of her power and forced to live in a world that she hates. She is taken away where she cannot bother another person, and she cannot do anything about it. She will live out the rest of her days suffering. Death is too good for her. If I had my way she would feel every bit of pain she ever inflicted to others, both physical and emotional, every day for the rest of her life.

Am I missing something? I thought she wouldn't remember anything? Because if she doesn't remember anything. all she'll know is that she has powerful siblings, she's the only one who doesn't have power.

Sounds like a recipe for a resentful child than a punishment for a criminal who nearly destroyed Arawyn as we know it.

You're all entitled to your opinions. Just like I'm entitled to mine. I just hope you don't regret this decision in the future.

Instead of seeing Eden as some outside monster that some of us chose to give a second change, you all who are so resentful, should acknowledge that people of this town created her to be the monster she was, she learned much of her strength because of Travance.

Perhaps you should try to see what happened, if you remember, as punishment for what happens when you let your own personal hubris rule your lives. The world is bigger than your own choices and suffering. What we do can in fact save or doom our whole world. Our particular strength of spirit should not be taken lightly and only fools bemoan the consequences of the bed they helped make. Even if they did not teach the monster directly, they did not step in or took no action at all. Those are decisions and we reaped what we sow'd.

If you do this, then maybe next time I'll consider killing the monster. You should always be able to put down what you create, but unmaking them is just fine too.

Miss Nadia is right. She was treated like a monster, and then given even more power than she had when she started. If you treat someone like a monster, how can you expect them not to become one? And we can take that lesson and apply it to each other. Some of us felt she should be spared. Some of us didn't. We all suffered together at her hands. Maybe some of us saw something worth saving in Eden. Maybe some of us wanted her life as recompense for the pain she caused. Maybe some of us just wanted to know that she couldn't do the same thing ever again and didn't care if she lived or died.

Anyone who knows me at all and knows what I stand for knows how I feel about it personally. But ultimately, that doesn't matter. The choice was made and what's done is done. The only power she still has over us is the power to divide us over this. However you feel... however your neighbor feels... we don't have to waste time and energy arguing over what should or should not have happened.

Look to the future that we now have. Look to the friends that we've made who stood with us and risked so much to help us save the world, even turning against their own sister. Please take the lesson from this. Don't treat them like monsters too. And don't treat each other like monsters. Even if you don't agree. We fought so hard for a world where we COULD disagree. Let's make it worth it.

So!

Back in that timeline, I didn't want Eden to die.

Still don't.

There's a hypocrisy in clamoring for death and suffering for past actions when all the while there are people walking in this town, lauded and accepted and praised.

I'm a little fuzzy on the past... month, or years, or however long it was, so this discussion is kind of confusing.

So there are some who say that Eden was saved, or spared.

And there are some who say she was stripped of her powers, and all of her memories.

So if she was stripped of all of her memories, life experiences, choices, powers, and everything that made her Eden, never to see her family again, or interact with other people, if the person she was is gone completely...

In what way exactly was she saved?

She's still breathing.

Regretfully you'll all be dead and dust instead of having to pay for the crimes YOUR hubris in letting her survive will have brought. But that seems to be the general way of 'heroes'. Make a decision that affects the world based on how your personal feelings at that second line up.

This conversation is quickly becoming pedantic. We are all just masters of morality here aren't we? Well I am going to disagree that death is the only worthwhile punishment. There was certainly something satisfying about seeing her at her most defeated. Perhaps we will get to see that again someday. Or maybe we won't. I have a lot of time to live to find out. But I will enjoy my time from now until then living my life instead of being stuck in the past.
